The town of Akureyri is located in the bottom of Eyjarförður fjord in northern Iceland. The entry point is in a sheltered area with easy access and free parking. From there it’s possible to follow the shoreline getting a fantastic view of the area. On calm days paddling across the fjord is fantastic. There are 5 waterfalls along the east side. The biggest being warm with geothermal water flowing from the mountain above. There is a lot of Birdlife and if lucky you could see seals and whales.
